Distraction
Whether you’re a driver or a vulnerable road user (VRU), distraction on our roads is a serious road safety issue that can end in injury or death. As a driver, distraction increases reaction time and stopping distances. For pedestrians, cyclists or motorcyclists (VRUs), using a mobile phone or wearing headphones can lead to disaster. Re:act 2020 aims to educate road users about the dangers of distraction.
At 100kmh, taking your eyes off the road for two seconds means you’re driving blind for 55 metres.
