Re:act road safety program driving safer vehicle choices for young Australians.
Innovative road safety program Re:act, which allows young road users to create engaging behaviour
change campaigns for their peers, is launching its 2022 program in Australia today with a focus on
‘Safer Vehicles’.
Re:act challenges university and college students to raise awareness among 16-25 year olds of road
and workplace safety issues to change road user behaviour and make all road users safer.
This year the program will run in Australia with design communication students at universities in NSW,
Victoria, WA and Queensland, and with graphic design students at TAFE colleges in NSW, Victoria, WA,
Queensland, and launching this year in South Australia. It will encourage young drivers to consider
vehicle safety when deciding which vehicle to purchase.
Internationally, Brazil and the United States will this year join the United Kingdom by also running the
program. All Re:act topics are aligned to local road safety issues.
Under the program, a panel of government and industry partners in each location select the most
compelling road safety campaign, which is then developed and launched in public via Re:act media
partner out-of-home digital assets. The selected Australian campaigns will be launched in the second
half of the year through long-term Australian media partner oOh!media.
Re:act Founder and CEO Andrew Hardwick says 2022 is the first time Re:act has been run in South
Australia and, internationally, Brazil will run the program for the first time in coming weeks with the
United States following later in the year.

their over-representation in road trauma has grown across Australia and into three corners of the globe,”

and changing behaviour of young road users by giving them a voice in road safety and bringing together
a unique collaboration of industry, government, higher education institutions and students.

including oOh!media who is going into its fifth year supporting Re:act in Australia as media partner.”
